Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 October 2026
These terms apply to website design, development and maintenance services provided by Zachary Cane, trading as Cane Designs, London, United Kingdom (“I”, “me”). By paying for a package, paying a deposit, or asking me to start work, you (“you”, “the client”) agree to them.
1. Packages and what's included
Each package is described on the pricing page. The page count, features and delivery times shown there form the agreed scope. Anything outside that scope is quoted separately before I do it.
- Single Page — £299. One custom page.
- Simple Website — £599. Up to five custom pages.
- Elaborate — £1,299. Up to fifteen pages or a small online shop, with agreed integrations.
- Maintenance Plan — £199 per month, as described in section 6.
Delivery times are targets from the date I receive your completed brief and all content and assets. They are not guaranteed where delays are caused by late content or feedback.
2. Payment
- Single Page: paid in full up front by card via Stripe.
- Simple and Elaborate: 50% deposit before work starts, 50% before the site goes live. The deposit may be paid via Stripe Payment Link or invoice.
- Maintenance: monthly card subscription via Stripe, billed in advance.
All prices are in pounds sterling. Invoices are due within 7 days. I may pause work on overdue accounts.
3. Revisions
I'll revise the design until you're happy, within the agreed scope. Changes that add pages, features or integrations beyond the package, or a change of direction after a design is approved, are quoted as additional work. Feedback is requested within 5 working days of each draft so the project keeps moving.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You provide the text, images, logos and other content, or confirm I may use stock or AI-generated material. You confirm you own or have permission to use everything you supply, and you are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your own content.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Before design work starts: full refund of any payment or deposit, less any third-party costs (such as a domain) already bought on your behalf.
After design work starts: deposits are non-refundable. Any balance paid is refunded less a charge for work completed to date, calculated pro rata against the package price.
Consumers: if you are buying as a consumer rather than a business, you have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By asking me to start within that period you agree that, if you then cancel, you'll pay for work done up to the point of cancellation.
6. Maintenance plan
- Includes up to 2 hours per month of content and design changes, security updates, backups, uptime and performance monitoring, hosting and domain management, and priority email support. Unused hours do not roll over.
- Larger changes are quoted separately or offset against a future month by agreement.
- Rolling monthly. Either of us may cancel with 30 days' written notice. No minimum term.
- If you cancel, I'll hand over hosting and domain access in good order at the end of the notice period.
7. Ownership
On full payment you own the website's design, content and code. Until then I retain ownership. Third-party components (fonts, plugins, platforms) stay under their own licences. I may show the finished site in my portfolio and link to it unless you ask me not to.
8. Hosting, domains and third parties
I set sites up on Cloudflare Pages or an equivalent and register domains in your name where possible. Third-party services (hosting, domains, payment processors, form and booking tools) are subject to their own terms and fees, which you are responsible for unless covered by a maintenance plan.
9. Liability
I'll do the work with reasonable skill and care. I'm not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect loss, nor for downtime or data loss caused by third-party providers. My total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid me for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If any part is found unenforceable the rest still applies. Questions: info@zacharycane.com.
